Boyle's Law: Pressure-Volume Relationship
Formula
Boyle's Law states that for a fixed amount of gas at constant temperature, pressure and volume are inversely proportional: P1V1 = P2V2. Doubling the pressure halves the volume. This gas law is fundamental to understanding pneumatics, breathing, and atmospheric science.
Common use cases:
- Scuba diving gas calculations
- Syringe and piston problems
- HVAC system design
