Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 7, 2026

1. Introduction

Calculatorica ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website calculatorica.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit and use our Site. Calculatorica is a free online calculator platform, and we are committed to respecting your privacy. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of the Site.

2. Information We Collect

Calculatorica does not require you to create an account, sign up, or provide any personal information to use our calculators. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information directly through our Site. All calculations are performed entirely in your browser, and no calculation data is transmitted to or stored on our servers.

However, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. This data helps us understand how visitors interact with our Site and includes the following types of information:

  • Pages viewed and time spent on pages
  • Referral sources (how you arrived at our Site)
  • Device type, operating system, and screen resolution
  • Browser type and version
  • Approximate geographic location (city or region level, not precise location)
  • General interaction events such as scrolls and clicks

This data is collected in an anonymized and aggregated form and cannot be used to personally identify you. We do not use any cookies for advertising or tracking purposes beyond what Google Analytics requires for its analytics functionality.

3. How We Use Information

The anonymous usage data collected through Google Analytics is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Understanding traffic patterns and visitor behavior on the Site
  • Identifying which calculators and pages are most useful to visitors
  • Improving the performance, design, and usability of the Site
  • Developing new calculator tools based on user interest
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues

We do not use this data for profiling, targeted advertising, or any purpose other than improving the Site and the experience we provide.

4. Third-Party Services

The only third-party service we use that may collect data is Google Analytics 4, which is provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics processes data on our behalf and in accordance with its own privacy policies. You can review Google's privacy practices at the following links:

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your data with any third parties for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose. We do not integrate any third-party advertising networks or social media tracking pixels on our Site.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Calculatorica itself does not set any first-party cookies. However, Google Analytics may set cookies on your device to distinguish unique users, throttle request rates, and collect information about how you interact with the Site. Common cookies set by Google Analytics include:

  • _ga — Used to distinguish unique users. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_* — Used to maintain session state. Expires after 2 years.

These cookies are used exclusively for analytics purposes and are not used for advertising. You can control or disable cookies through the following methods:

  • Adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers allow you to manage cookie preferences through their settings or preferences menu.
  • Installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on, which prevents Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits.
  • Using your browser's "Do Not Track" feature, though note that not all services honor this signal.

Please note that disabling cookies may not affect the core functionality of our Site, as all calculators operate entirely within your browser without requiring cookies.

6. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data collected through Google Analytics is retained in accordance with Google Analytics' default data retention settings. Currently, Google Analytics 4 retains event-level data for a default period of 2 months, with the option to extend to 14 months. Aggregated, non-identifiable reporting data may be retained indefinitely within Google Analytics for historical analysis. Since we do not collect any personally identifiable information, there is no personal data to delete or export.

7. Children's Privacy

Calculatorica is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since our Site does not require registration or the submission of any personal data, we believe we are in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through our Site, please contact us so that we can address the matter promptly.

8. Your Rights

Even though we do not collect personally identifiable information, we respect your right to control your online privacy. You have the following options:

  • Disable Cookies: You can configure your browser to refuse all cookies or to alert you when a cookie is being set.
  • Opt Out of Google Analytics: You can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics.
  • Do Not Track: You can enable your browser's "Do Not Track" signal. While we do not currently respond to DNT signals in a technical capacity (as we do not perform tracking beyond anonymous analytics), we respect the intent behind such requests.
  • Contact Us: If you have any questions or concerns about your privacy, you may reach us through the contact information provided on our Site.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion of personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information.

Since Calculatorica does not collect, store, or sell any personally identifiable information, our obligations under the CCPA are minimal. We do not sell personal information to third parties and have never done so. The anonymous, aggregated data collected through Google Analytics does not constitute "personal information" as defined under the CCPA. Nevertheless, we acknowledge and respect the rights of California residents under this law. If you are a California resident and have questions about your rights, please contact us through our Site.

10. International Users

Calculatorica is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that any data collected through Google Analytics may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer and processing of such data in the United States. Google Analytics handles international data transfers in accordance with its own privacy policies and applicable data protection frameworks.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make changes, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Your continued use of the Site after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
